Highlands Ranch, Colorado: In March, 2007 Highlands Behavioral Health System (HBH) announced the grand opening of their new premier specialty hospital. HBH is a subsidiary of UHS (Universal Health Services), a publicly traded company under the symbol - UHS. HBH is an 86-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital offering comprehensive psychiatric care for adolescents and adults.
HBH offers both inpatient adult and inpatient adolescent treatment programs, in addition to offering an adult partial hospitalization program and an adult chemical dependency intensive out patient program. "There are so many people in need of mental health treatment here in Colorado. Our programs focus on stabilizing the crisis situation, providing treatment and then developing appropriate discharge plans. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan, specific to the patients needs," said Sheila Rockley, Hospital Spokeswoman for HBH. "Our vision is to provide superior quality patient care, as well as meet the community's demands for new program offerings."
The hospital is located in Highlands Ranch Colorado, just minutes from downtown Denver. Millions of dollars went into assuring the facility was aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and afforded security to both patients and employees. HBH had the luxury of hiring the finest physicians, nurses, therapists and ancillary staff.
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week for assessments and admissions. The adult unit accepts patients from 18 years of age and older, while the adolescent unit accepts patients ages 13 to 17. Many of the admitting issues include: crisis stabilization, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dual diagnosis (mental health & substance abuse), obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as substance related disorders.
The facility itself boasts of outdoor courtyards, a café eatery, gymnasium, comfortable semi-private rooms, large group rooms with floor to ceiling windows and nurses stations that are well positioned to see all areas of each unit.
"In all we do at HBH, we are committed to seeking out innovative solutions to meet the changing behavioral health needs of our community," said David Morris, CEO. "HBH saw a community need and is responding by providing superior quality-care and service for our adult and adolescent patients."
